Use the database Newspapers.sg provided by the National Library Board.

  • Use Advanced Search
  • Enter your keywords
  • Select the Newspaper, e.g. The Straits Times
  • Select the Date Range

The Straits Times is searchable in Newspapers.sg from 1845-2009.

Most of the articles can be read online where the pages are watermarked (with exceptions for articles that SPH does not have the copyright for). For a clean copy, go to the National Library and print from the microfilm reels.

Factiva and LexisNexis have articles from The Straits Times from 1 July 1989 to present.
