Only non-alcoholic drinks in covered containers are permitted in all SMU Libraries.

Kindly note that SMU Libraries adopt a no food policy.

Security guards and library staff have the authority to request users to abide to our no food policy through the following actions:

  • requesting users to deposit food items at the security counter before entering the libraries
  • refraining users from eating within the libraries' premises

Users who fail to abide by the policy will be asked to leave the libraries.

Note:

Exemptions to the no food policy are made for SMU approved events held within SMU Libraries. Events organisers who are catering food for their events are required to seek prior approval via email.
