CLASS stands for Copyright Licensing and Administration Society of Singapore Ltd, an organization which represents authors and publishers around the world and collects copyright licence fees for them. SMU has prepaid the copyright fees and signed an agreement with CLASS which allows faculty to photocopy and distribute materials belonging to their authors or publishers for teaching purposes. Faculy may distribute materials that falls within the copying limit when copying CLASS materials without further copyright clearance. However, the CLASS agreement requires all copying to be recorded. Hence, copyright forms must be filled and submitted to Course Support Services, Li Ka Shing Library. This can be done online via the link as follows.

The CLASS agreement covers only the undergraduate and postgradute (by coursework) programs. It is not applicable to executrive education programs. Please contact the Legal Office to verify if your program is covered in the CLASS agreement.
