When you are downloading an ebook and you are prompted with the following options, please choose the device that you are using now. For the example below, we assume that you intend to read it on your laptop or macbook, so please select "Laptop Desktop" and click "Continue".
If you already have a copy of Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) installed, please click "Done with this step", else, please click "Get Adobe Digital Editions" and then download the installer.
Once you have downloaded the software, double click on the installer to install. Leave all the setting and options by default and proceed until the installation is complete.
Once installation is completed, Launch ADE.
Go to Help, and then select "Authorize Computer..."
The following window will appear. You can either choose to create an Adobe ID (which is free) or else, click "I want to authorize my computer without an ID" in order to proceed. Once this authorization is completed, you are good to go.
Note #1: For mobile devices such as iphone, Android phone, ipad or tablet, you will not be given the latter choice. Please go ahead to create an Adobe ID (which is mandatory) to proceed, as shown below.
Note #2: If you have chose not to create an Adobe ID, a warning message will display to remind you that:
- only ebooks that are downloaded from hereafter can be read from this ADE
- any ebooks that were downloaded previously will not be accessible
- you won't be able to transfer ebook from this ADE to other devices in future
Click "Authorize" to accept the terms and proceed.
