Here are a few useful library resources that may help address your questions about research and citations pertaining to COR1100 Writing & Reasoning (WR) assignments:

1. LIB001 - Library Research Skills on your eLearn

LIB001 is made up of four Learning Activities (LAs). After completing LA3: The Research Process and LA4: Avoiding Plagiarism through the APA Style, you will be able to apply the research process model to undertake research systematically and avoid plagiarism using correct citation and reference techniques.

2. Writing & Reasoning (COR1100) Learning Kit

This Learning Kit consolidates useful resources and tools that you can leverage on to get started with your WR research and craft APA citations for your assignments. It also highlights the useful databases and local sources specifically for Assessment 3.

3. How do I use APA Citation Style

This guide presents examples of in-text and reference-list citations for a variety of resource types. Always identify the type of source you are citing as the first step, and craft your own citation following the given examples. Also check out the various self-help reference software and tools that can help you with your referencing and citations in the guide.

After checking out these self-help resources, still need help on your WR research and citations?

Please email our librarians at liblearn@smu.edu.sg and let them know what you're struggling with (your question) and what you've attempted (your solution) - this will help them understand your thought process and know how to guide you. Please note that they will not help to check your reference list.

Also, do not leave things to the last minute! Generally, our librarians will get back to you within 3 working days, so do plan ahead for your submissions.
